Gladys Knight has some moves. Jaleel White has a lot of moves. And even after a conk to the head, Melissa Gilbert has “blooming artistry.”
It could be said the latest edition of Dancing With the Stars has been blessed with talent.
It could also be said it’s been cursed to be without Kate Gosselin or Bristol Palin.
DWTS RECAP: Who’s “Wired for Sex”?

While continuing to dominate Monday as the night’s most-watched show, and hold its own against NCIS: Los Angeles on Tuesdays, the ratings for this season’s much-praised DWTS are down significantly from the trainwreck editions that featured Gosselin and Palin.
By week six of those two DWTS cycles, spring 2010 and fall 2010, respectively, the show was drawing more than 20 million viewers for its performance episodes. Last night, the show’s sixth week kicked off before about 17 million.
But there’s probably more at work here than the current season’s lack of polarizing personalities and debateably talented dancers.
For one thing, this is the first spring DWTS and The Voice have gone head-to-head—both shows are a little bruised as a result. For another thing, DWTS is coming off a weak fall edition that was no slouch in the lightning-rod department (see: Chaz Bono). And for a third thing, the season’s biggest-ever Nielsen season, last spring’s Hines Ward-crowning run, didn’t have a Gosselin or a Palin in the bunch.
Also, Gosselin’s talent for the ballroom, or lack thereof, isn’t all that debatable…
Elsewhere, here’s a look at some of the other TV ratings winners—and losers, per the just-released broadcast and cable rankings:
• The Voice (10.1 million estimated viewers): Last night’s show was back up over the 10 million mark, and just plain back up for the first time in weeks.
• Smash (6.1 million estimated viewers): Bollywood saves.
• Revenge (7.7 million viewers): Its spring return wasn’t its biggest performance, but it was big enough to take its 10 p.m., Wednesday time slot.
• Grey’s Anatomy (9.8 million viewers): It hasn’t lost its touch, even up against Touch (7.3 million viewers); it scored its largest audience in more than two months.
• Don’t Trust the B—— in Apartment 23 (6.4 million viewers): A Top 20 finish among young adults who know very well how to fill in the blanks.
• Fox 25th Anniversary Special (4.3 million viewers): If you missed it, then at least you’re only a YouTube click away from Barry Manilow wishing ABC a happy 25th.
• Veep (1.7 million viewers): Yes, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is twice as old as Girls’ Lena Dunham, and, yes, her HBO audience is twice as big.
Here’s a complete look at the top 10 most-watched broadcast shows, per the latest Nielsen rankings:

New information has come to light about the final moments in the life of Don Cornelius.
E! News has obtained the graphic autopsy results on the Soul Train legend, who died back in February at the age of 75.
The documents reaffirm the coroner’s ruling issued then: the cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head which entered through the right temple.

The autopsy report states that Cornelius had suffered an aneurysm about 15 years ago which caused him to develop seizures and “as time went on the decedent’s health continued to decline regardless of his medication.”
It notes that on Feb. 1 at approximately 3 a.m., the 75-year-old Soul Train host phoned his son and said, “I don’t know how long I can take this.” Moments later, Cornelius apparently pulled the trigger.
His son later told investigators, “[I] found the back door open and detected the odor of smoke…then found [the elder Cornelius] unresponsive on a chair. 911 was dialed.”

The report, which includes vivid depictions of Don Cornelius’ wounds, reveals that he had been “very depressed about his failing health” for the past six months.
After paramedics failed to revive him with CPR, the impresario was pronounced dead at 4:56 a.m.
No suicide note was found and no foul play was suspected.

And another celeb duo has decided to take things a little more public.
First, the phenomenon known as Kimye saw fit to make their pairing all but official, and now this adorable couple, Michelle Williams and Jason Segel (Jaselle? Michon?), have done the same, going more public than ever during their own date night in New York.
So what did these two get up to?

The 32-year-old Segel and the 31-year-old Williams were caught out by the paparazzi when exiting La Esquina Monday night, a Mexican eatery in Manhattan.
It’s not the first time the couple has been spotted out together, but it’s certainly the first time they’ve been photographed knowingly (unlike, perhaps, their romantic Brooklyn stroll last month) and making no attempt to hide while in the vicinity of cameras (unlike, no perhaps about it, when they succeeded in remaining un-photographed while by all accounts PDA-ing it up at the Five-Year Engagement premiere last week).
So are their reticence-eschewing ways a sign that things are getting more serious between these two? Time will tell, but we can only hope. We’re rooting for those two crazy kids!

Angelina Jolie isn’t the only celeb who’s down to show off a little leg.
A certain singer-actress gave her Twitter followers a bit of an eyeful when she snapped a pic of herself lounging by a fireplace Monday.
So, to which starlet do those toned gams belong?
“As you can see I have a very busy Monday ;),” the 19-year-old LOL star tweeted, along with the sultry pic.
But the former Disney teen queen wasn’t resting for long.
“For real though. I actually do have a busy Monday,” Cyrus tweeted shortly afterward. “Time to get my ass up and let the day begin! Meetings ALL day can’t wait to share :).”
Perhaps Cyrus’ stems will follow suit with the launch of their own Twitter account à la Jolie’s right leg.

Apparently, Jon Lovitz has taken a page from Ted Nugent’s Barack Obama-bashing playbook—and, boy, did he run with it.
The comedian sat down with director turned host Kevin Smith for what was supposed to have been a comedy-themed podcast, but it instead devolved into a nasty rant that saw Lovitz rip the president to pieces amid a barrage of profanity-filled barbs.
Yowza. And you thought President Obama had enough on his hands duking it out with Republicans during an election year…

“This whole thing with Obama saying the rich don’t pay their taxes is f—king bulls—t,” Lovitz rails on the podcast series The ABC’s of SNL, which was reportedly recorded earlier this year but only surfaced online this past weekend. (Listen to the podcast below, although be forewarned: loads of sharp language in there.)
The series was supposed to be a fond look back at Lovitz’s time as a player on Saturday Night Live, but the disgruntled comedian—who described himself as a Democrat—used it as a podium to settle an apparently bitter score with the president over his tax policy.
“And I voted for the guy, and I’m a Democrat,” he continues. “What a f—king a—hole. The rich don’t pay their taxes? Let me tell you something, right. First they say to you, you’re dead broke—’The United States of America, you can do anything you want, go for it.’ So then you go for it, and then you make it, and everyone’s like, ‘F—k you.”

Lovitz doesn’t stop there. He then goes on to cite Obama’s own challenging upbringing and castigates the president for turning against the 99 percent.
“He himself is the perfect example,” Lovitz says. “He’s amazing. He had nothing…he had no father, he was [of] mixed race…and no money…and the guy ends up being at Harvard. He’s the president of the United States. And now he’s like, ‘F—k me and everybody who made it like me.’ “
At one point, Smith—normally an outspoken and polarizing figure himself—steps in to try to dial down Lovitz’s diatribe, joking, “Hey, stop yelling at the 99 percent! Occupy Lovitz!”
Maybe Lovitz should’ve brought some placards.

“They’re incredibly civilized, and I’m loving it so I’m so happy I couldn’t be tired!” Eve gushed to us at last night’s premiere of her new thriller The Raven in L.A.
While Eve remained tight-lipped on details (like everyone else!) she did say this. “It’s a real ensemble and it’s a real group effort. Everyone’s very welcoming and generous.”
Meanwhile, Eve, who you may remember from by her breasty role as Charlotte’s nanny in Sex and the City 2, told us about filming a very scary scene for The Raven in which she’s buried alive in a coffin.
“It was intense,” she said. “You lose the oxygen when you get in there. It’s pretty dirty. You just have to get a hippy vibe going and get comfortable with being dirty all day. The shower was definitely the best part of the day.”

Deion Sanders’ estranged wife has just been released from jail after her domestic violence arrest yesterday — and she’s forbidden from returning home … for the next 60 days.
A judge issued an emergency protective order against Pilar Sanders today before releasing her from custody, banning her from entering the ex-couple’s Texas mansion for the next two months. She’s also prohibited from threatening or harassing any member of the family.
But on her way out of jail, Pilar told reporters, “I am innocent. I understand that I have a very little chance at beating a Hall of Fame, two-sport man that everyone seems to love and adore. I am a full-time mom 100 percent for my children and I have just not gotten a fair shake.”
As we previously reported … Pilar was arrested after allegedly jumping Deion in his bedroom — “kicking, biting, and scratching” him in front of his sons.

Lane Garrison’s lawyer says his client will not be charged with felony domestic violence for allegedly brutalizing his former girlfriend Saturday night … at least not immediately.
Harland Braun tells TMZ, he spoke with the D.A. this morning and was told prosecutors don’t have sufficient information right now to file a case, but that could change as the investigation continues.
A D.A. official tells us the case is under review and it still could be filed … and that could happen as early as today.
Braun also tells TMZ … he is getting in touch with the parole board — Lane is on parole for a 2007 manslaughter conviction — to see if the board will take action against the actor. Lane is currently being held on a parole hold in Beverly Hills jail.
Lane’s former GF, Ashley Mattingly, claims he brutalized her Saturday night and says the surveillance video — obtained by TMZ — proves it. Braun says the video does NOT show Lane striking Ashley … he was merely reaching for the cell phone she grabbed from him.
Braun says he believes his client was convincing when he spoke with Bev Hills detectives, and that’s why no immediate charges have been filed.

Deion Sanders’ estranged wife denies that she broke into his room in their Dallas-area home and attacked him in front of their children.

Those surreal conversations Zach Galifianakis has been having online are coming to a television set near you.
Between Two Ferns, the popular web series in which the comedian sits down (between two ferns, natch) and banters weirdly with various celebrities, will morph into a 30-minute episode, premiering on Comedy Central May 6 before the channel’s annual Comedy Awards.

Ferns co-creator Scott Aukerman announced the news on his Comedy Bang Bang podcast. The producer hatched the original sketch idea back in late 2007 as a pilot that eventually found success after it was posted on the website Funny or Die, where it became a sensation.
The parody interview show has featured in the past such guests as Charlize Theron, Sean Penn, Natalie Portman, Bruce Willis, Jennifer Aniston, and fellow funnymen Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, and Steve Carell.
Slated for the hot seat on the TV special, dubbed Between Two Ferns: A Fairy Tale of New York, are Jon Stewart, 30 Rock star Tina Fey and Sir Richard Branson.

This Avenger is assembling some fresh ink.
While making the promotional rounds this month, Scarlett Johansson showed off a brand-new tattoo on her wrist—but what is it?
Sure, on first glance it may look like ScarJo is taking branding to unseen new heights, but that’s not Thor’s hammer she’s showing love for on her arm. It’s something else entirely…
MORE: How naked is ScarJo under that Avengers costume?
Namely, the city of New York!
That’s right, tilt your head and squint your eyes and you can just make out the words emblazoned on the permanent bracelet-type tat encircling the 27-year-old’s wrist: “I [heart] NY.”
That’s one way to show your civic pride. And decorate your body. A few years back, Scarlett showed off her other tattoo, located a bit further up her left arm, of a colorful sunrise.
She’s so far remained tightlipped on the meaning of her older ink, but luckily there’s no such confusion this time around: the writing’squite literally on the wall arm.

Gotye has changed his tune when it comes to dissing Glee’s take on his chart-topping hit.
Just days after slamming Darren Criss and Matt Bomer’s cover of “Somebody That I Used To Know” as “dinky and wrong,” the 31-year-old Australian indie rocker is praising their version as “clever.”

At a private performance at Sayers Club in Hollywood Monday, Gotye referred to his comments about the Fox dramedy, saying, “I thought it was really clever to transpose the song to two guys…it was a great idea,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
That’s a huge leap from his previous comments to the Sunday Herald Sun, in which Gotye said the Glee cover sounded “like it’s playing to you from a cardboard box.”
So what gives?

According to Gotye, the media took his comments out of context.
“This xylophone hook in my song — it’s kind of dinky not just in the cover version but the original song,” Gotye explained to the crowd. “That becomes the Glee cover I hated and Darren Criss is an a—hole.”
When he was first asked about Glee’s cover of the song, Gotye told the Sunday Mail, “They did such a faithful arrangement of the instrumentals but the vocals were that pop Glee style, ultra-dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense,” among other things.
